IMPACT -H2 project has kiched off. Research infrastructure on renewable hydrogen
The region Friuli-Venezia Giula announced today, Wednesday 9 April, an investment of EUR 11.3 million to fund five research infrastructure projects covering the entire renewable hydrogen chain. The initiative involves seven regional universities and research institutions and represents a significant step in the regional energy transition strategy.
The five funded projects are: Impact-H2 (University of Udine and University of Trieste) with €2.30 million for the development of laboratories dedicated to the decarbonisation of fuels; E4H2 - Efficiency for Hydrogen (University of Trieste and University of Udine) with €2.29 million for a network of four laboratories dedicated to the hydrogen supply chain; Fuse (Ogs, University of Udine and University of Trieste) with €2.11 million for an infrastructure dedicated to the identification of underground hydrogen storage sites; I-Campus-H2 (CNR, Area Science Park, Elettra Sincrotrone) with EUR 2.17 million for the advanced study of materials for the hydrogen supply chain at the Basovizza Campus; H2Smartlab (Area Science Park, Sissa, University of Trieste) with EUR 2.19 million for an infrastructure that supports the production, storage and use of hydrogen in ‘intelligent mode’.
Our group is involved in developing an infrastructure within IMPACT-H2 project.
